merchants of COOL.

The video of Merchants of Cool, was a bit outdated, so I am sure a lot has changed from then to now. I was twelve years old when this was broad casted and I was unable to know "pop culture" or whatever was "cool". Growing up my parents kept me away from watching anything but cartoons or educational shows. For this reason exactly, so I wouldn't beg or bribe my parents for things that I would see on certain channels.
I can definitely tell that teens are the most studied generation, because we as teens or young adults make the following generation so we have to be involved while we are young. I thought that numbers of dollars that were spend by children and parents on their children was ridiculous. If parents pity their children they will never know the hard work of a dollar especially now where our generation is screwed because of the generation before us brought us into a shit economy.
Companies are smart by going to teens when it comes to advertisements especially Sprite. Even today when I see a sprite commercial I think they are way legit because they always have cool effects or professional athletes campaigning for them. Seeing athletes on television always catches my eye since I am one, and think to be a pro athlete would be the greatest job of all time. I'm sure many other young adults feel the same way.Sprite obviously caught on fast because they were the fastest growing soft drink and most likely they still are today.
MTV obviously isn't as booming as it use to be since they no longer have Total Request Live which is one of the main reasons so many teens use to watch it. I sometimes don't understand why I watch it I know everything is fake, but thats why the writers and producers are good at what they do to keep the audience interested in their so called "real" tv.
